Avignon Capital, the European property investment and asset management firm, has successfully refinanced with Berlin Hyp, one of our core Dutch portfolios. It consists of a large modern hotel adjacent to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, Hyatt Place Amsterdam Airport, and a landmark office building in the international district of Den Haag, Netherlands.

The assets, which have been part of Avignon Capital’s portfolio since 2017, have demonstrated strong performance against the business plan with the potential for further optimisation. This financing deal, completed in collaboration with Berlin Hyp, reflects the continued confidence in these prime assets and their distinct strategic locations in the Netherlands. Clifford Chance acted for Avignon while DLA Piper was acting on behalf of Berlin Hyp.

The refinancing of these assets is just one of several financing opportunities taking place within Avignon’s European portfolio through 2024. This latest milestone highlights Avignon Capital’s ability to navigate complex financial landscapes and secure favourable terms that benefit all stakeholders.

Avignon Capital is dedicated to implementing comprehensive ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategies across the portfolio, and both these assets have a comprehensive sustainability strategy which are ongoing. Continued efforts are underway to enhance sustainability measures, including a focus on achieving energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint of these properties.

Doug Burton-Cantley, Managing Director at Avignon Capital comments “We are delighted once again to partner with the team at Berlin Hyp who have supported our asset management strategies over a number of years. We look forward to unlocking the ESG and value potential of both assets with our tenant partners over the next 24 months.”
