Avignon Capital has appointed Valad Europe/Cromwell Property Group CEO David Kirkby as Director of Capital Accounts. Based in the London office, David will focus on further growth of the company.
David was previously CEO of Valad Europe, later known as Cromwell Property Group, responsible for leading the business. Prior to joining Valad Europe, he was CEO of European Funds Management with the Lend Lease Group. His previous roles include CEO of Lend Lease’s funds and development businesses in Asia and Head of Wholesale Funds.
David has worked in real estate for over 35 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and multi-sector experience. He will play a leading role in the next phase of Avignon’s growth strategy and help to form new strategic relationships.
David Kirkby, newly-appointed director at Avignon Capital, commented “I am delighted at the opportunity to be part of an entrepreneurial team that is focused on client outcomes and passionate about what they do.
Avignon Capital is a growing business, so hopefully, my network and experience will complement the team as they expand further in the UK and Europe. Avignon has an enviable track record and its focused and driven team is exactly what institutional capital is seeking.
Eric Mounier, CEO at Avignon Capital, said “It is an exciting time for Avignon and this new senior appointment will enhance our team further. David brings extensive experience and knowledge within real estate and funds and will play a pivotal role in strengthening our position in the UK and across Europe.”
This hire comes at an important time for Avignon Capital and marks the latest in a series of significant announcements this year. In March, Avignon partnered with CLSA, the international platform of CITIC Securities (China’s largest investment bank), which chose Avignon as its exclusive partner in its new European property investment drive.
